EXCEPTIONAL SWIMMING TUITION
Storytime Swim Centres are a leader in aquatic education and a genuine Australian success story, teaching thousands of children to swim and achieving outstanding Olympic results for over 25 years. From humble beginnings, the Storytime concepts has grown to be a leading swim school within Brisbane.
Under the guidance of co founders Jan and Tony Arndt, the quest for excellence goes on as we continue to pioneer and develop new teaching and training methods.
At the heart of Storytime's success lies quality, consistency and a systemised approach to everything that we do. Our methods of aquatic education are based around health, safety and security which is of paramount concern. Our state of the art equipment ensures that our indoor heated pool and outdoor 50m pool are clean and hygienic at all times.
Our main aim is to ensure that learning to swim is fun and the first step in securing an asset for life.
OUR FACILITIES AND OUR STAFF
Safety - We aim to provide a safe environment for children, staff and visitors at all times. All equipment and materials used in the program are checked regularly to ensure that they are safe and functional. A staff member who holds a current First Aid certificate is present on every shift and a comprehensive First Aid Kit is kept at the complex.
Design - In most cases the facility has been designed to best cater for all ages from prep through to year seven allowing for the whole school to swim with the center keeping all stroke correction in line with each year of progression.
Water Quality - Ensuring and maintaining water quality is critical to our business. Our pools are equipped with excellent filtration and disinfection systems. Water quality and chlorine levels are checked regularly throughout each day and chemicals adjusted as necessary, to ensure comfortable and healthy swimming conditions at all times.
Working with Children Check - In accordance with child protection laws and prior to employment, all staff members are required to participate in a screening process, which determines their suitability for working with children. This requirement means that all staff involved possess a Blue Card.
Teachers - In addition to AUSTSWIM certification, all our instructors undertake additional training administered by Storytime Swimming, using our proven teaching methodology. Teacher training has always been a priority and our training programs are highly regarded within the industry. Our teachers take special interest in each and every child and work closely with our supervisors to ensure optimum results.
EXPECTATION AND PROGRESS
The Importance of Technique - We firmly believe the key to successful swimming is sound technique. Our staff will work hard to ensure that children are swimming with the correct technique. This will ensure that they do not develop any bad habits, which may impede future progress through the program.
Rewards - When a child has achieved the skills required at each level, he/she will be awarded a certificate. In addition, motivational awards can be given at any time - these are primarily used to encourage children and give them a sense of accomplishment.
Behaviour Management - We aim to use positive techniques for behaviour management, with an emphasis on positive reinforcement. Behaviour management is consistent between staff members, who understand age appropriate expectations.
